Movie quotes meme

I saw this on [livejournal.com profile] arabian 's journal, I thought I'd done it before but apparently not!  So, another meme :)

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie (or call one up from your memory).
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. THAT'S CHEATING!!!

1. "You don't misbehave here. It's just not done, did you know that? If you don't go to confession, if you don't... dig your flowerbeds, or if you don't pretend, if you don't pretend... that you want nothing more in your life than to serve your husband three meals a day, and give him children, and vacuum under his ass, then... then you're... then you're crazy." Chocolat, unguessed

2. "My darling, you're such a child. You think that by saying, "I'm sorry," all the past can be corrected." Gone with the Wind, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] amberfocus

3. "Come on, Luce. We've got to do something with him, he's a sailor on leave! He needs a bar, a brawl, and a brothel!" Across the Universe, unguessed

4. "You can do that?"
"Yeah, Dad, all cable repairmen can."
Independence Day guessed by [livejournal.com profile] anepidemic

5. "Isn't it rather dangerous to use one's entire vocabulary in a single sentence?" Oliver & Company, unguessed

6. "Screw the dolphins."
"A guy tried that last year, he's banned from Sea World for life!" She's All That, unguessed

7. "Half of writing history is hiding the truth." Serenity, unguessed

8. "The only two choices for women; witch and sexy kitten."
"Oh, you just said a mouthful there, sister."
Sex and the City: The Movie, guessed by[profile] wonder_woman214

I actually generally find Jodie Foster quite striking, but in Maverick she was all soft and curls and smiles and charm and just utter adorableness to like the zenith. Clue, I love. SO. UNBELIEVABLY. MUCH!

No, no, that wasn't a hard quote. As soon as I read it, I knew it. I *instinctively* knew it. But my brain could not connect its synapses. I used my default icon and actually thought, I think GWTW is one of those quotes, but didn't pursue the thought further. If I had for five seconds, it would have been a big ringing DUH in my brain. So no, no excuse for me. I am bad, bad GWTW fan. I must watch it again. It has actually been about ten years since I last watched it. That's my excuse, I guess, but still. Bad, bad, bad. I'm so ashamed. I don't deserve my beautiful default icon, but I'm using it anyway!! WAH!

Don't get me wrong, she's very talented and I enjoy her acting...but usually she is playing a much harder sort of person, which is a bit of a turn off for me. Mrs. Bransford however, is all sugar and smiles and fake southern accents and I love her :-D

Wow, really? I usually watch it about...oh, once a year maybe? Though every time I do I end up getting in a fight with my sister over Rhett versus Scarlett :-D She sympathizes with him, I sympathize with her. Ne'er the twain shall meet, I'm afraid...

No, I agree with you about Jodie. That's what I was saying about her too.

As for GWTW, I just don't have time much to watch a four hour movie often. I'm making the time soon though, I am!

Yeeaaah it'll take up an evening or five. And god forbid you ever want to watch Scarlett (no, really...god forbid you want to watch Scarlett...) 'cause that one is like 8 hours...
